Amy Chandler Hogan

Development Director

Amy was born and raised in New Orleans, graduating from the University of New Orleans with studies focused on sociology and political science. Her love of children and learning led her to work in education, first as a preschool teacher and later as a school administrator.

Amy’s career in the not-for-profit world began in 2006 immediately following Hurricane Katrina. She worked for the City of New Orleans for several years during intense recovery efforts and was ultimately drawn to the nonprofit community that was making tremendous progress on some of the city’s biggest challenges.  Accepting a position at the Greater New Orleans Foundation in 2011, her nonprofit career was launched.

Since then, Amy has moved across the country twice, working for different nonprofits of all shapes and sizes, all with missions dedicated to children and education. Her love of building relationships and commitment to the principle of gratitude guide her work as a fundraiser. She is thrilled to join the talented and results-driven staff of LaAmistad.

Outside of work, Amy loves taking walks with her husband, daughter, and dog, reading, discovering new restaurants, and exploring the north Georgia mountains.
