Carla Phillips grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and attended Clark Atlanta University, where she studied Communications/Public Relations. After graduation and spending some time travelling, Carla moved to Los Angeles, accepting a position at Paramount Studios and would later continue her career at NBC Studios. A job relocation brought Carla back to Atlanta and while working at Turner Broadcasting, she began to get more involved in her community and was naturally drawn to the non-profit sector, specifically volunteer management. Having gained significant experience in the volunteer management field, Carla has worked at the Piedmont Park Conservancy, the Atlanta History Center and the Shepherd Center.
In August 2016, Carla began working at LaAmistad as the volunteer coordinator and was excited to be able to combine her passion of youth empowerment and education sustenance to help support the mission of LaAmistad, Inc.
In her free time, Carla can be found in technology tutorials with her two children, gardening, baking all things sweet and running marathons and half marathons, because after all, someone has to be the taste tester, right?
