Julia Borjeson

Community Engagement Manager

Julia was born in Gothenburg, Sweden and lived in several different places before settling in Atlanta, Georgia and attending the Georgia Institute of Technology. In December 2016, she graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS/MS in International Affairs with a focus in Human Rights and a minor in Spanish. At university, Julia spent two summers abroad studying and working in Brussels, Belgium. During her time there, she visited many international non-profits and NGO’s. While listening to the missions of these organizations, she realized that working toward improving international human rights, especially among women and children, was her true passion.

Julia joined the LaAmistad team in October 2017. As the Community Engagement Manager, she works with community partners to bring volunteers and resources to LaAmistad’s students and services. She also manages the organization’s social media presence and enjoys finding new ways to broaden and deepen LaAmistad’s reach.

When she’s not working, Julia enjoys traveling, spinning, running as well as trying all of Atlanta’s wonderful restaurants and coffee shops.
