She also worked as a paralegal for the Law Firm of W. Bryant Green for over 10 years while completing her education. During her second year of working for the Law Firm of W. Bryant Green, she decided to take a sabbatical and moved to Colombia, South America. She lived there for a year, both teaching English part-time and working for an American based Credit Company. She then moved back to the states and continued to work for W. Bryant Green. Towards the end of her career with the law firm, she enrolled to Gwinnett Technical where she received her certification in Allied Healthcare.
Michelle was first exposed to LaAmistad as she was registering her daughter for the after school program. Through her interactions with the organization, Michelle was offered a part-time Parent Liaison position to lead the LaAmistad parent program at Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Cathedral of St. Phillip. This position made her realize that helping parents and children was truly her passion. In February 2015, she continued to pursue her passion and accepted a full-time position with LaAmistad as Replication Coordinator.
As Replication Coordinator of LaAmistad, her responsibilities include management of all new after school satellite locations. When Ocampo is not at LaAmistad, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, traveling, cleaning and organizing.
